Bio
Former Motown recording artist, Derrick R. Williams, aka D!, is a Connecticut based Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Actor, Playwright, Director and Entrepreneur. D! was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He is married and also a proud father and family man as well.
D! is a graduate of Delaware State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree inMarketing. He continued to pursue his education at Sacred Heart University where he obtained a Master's Degree in Education. Aspiring to expound upon his musical and theatrical knowledge, D! is presently taking courses at Connecticut College. D! is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. as well as Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity.
As a young child, D! realized that he was called to share his talents. Now, as an adult, his desire is to encourage people through music, comedy and drama. In doing so, he has helped many to understand how truly valuable they are. His genuine love for people stems from his understanding that Jesus loves us unconditionally and that He sacrificed His life to save us.
With help from volunteer members of his Non-Profit Organization, D! Williams and the Gospel Family, Inc. D! has successfully presented HE Is Risen! which is an original stage play based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. He has also released two CD's, Thank God for Family (2007), and HE Is Risen! the Soundtrack (2008).
Knowing the purpose of his life, which is to please God, D! continues to share his talents of music and drama ministry. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, D! plans to release future musical and theatrical projects.
